Leans first gained experience in music production and engineering by working with other up-and-coming artists, which eventually led to her collaborating on and releasing her own material. She is heavily influenced by the diverse range of R&B, funk, and hip hop that she grew up listening to, and these influences can be heard in her music. Leans cites Michael Jackson as her biggest musical influence, along with artists such as Beyonce, Pete Rock, and The Black Eyed Peas.

 

Leans has been passionate about music and dance from a young age, and her love of both has always been closely connected. She first started making music as a hobby, but it wasn't until she moved to Seoul that she began to seriously consider releasing her work.

 

In Seoul, Leans worked with a variety of underground and mainstream artists, writing, performing, and releasing music that sparked her joy for creating and sharing projects. After moving back to London, she decided to put out her debut single, "What if?", a track that gives us a sneak peek into Leans as a singer, lyricist, and performer.

 

"What if?" tackles themes of double standards and was heavily inspired by Ciara's "Like a Boy." The song highlights the negative aspects of being in relationships where one side feels like they're being treated unfairly, but despite the lyrics, the song is upbeat and bright with an energetic chorus. The vibrant visuals and storyline in the music video perfectly match the energetic vibe of the track.

 

Leans is currently promoting her upcoming single My bad which is set to drop on the 3rd Feb , a pop single that combines various genres to create a dynamic and danceable track. With its catchy melody, trap beat, and exhilarating drop, this single is sure to get listeners moving and singing along. In addition to the energetic beat, the immersive and engaging storytelling of the song draws the listener into the experience and makes them feel like they are right in the thick of the action.
